Our meeting will be at the same time and location we usually do! This months guest speaker is our Board Member Rick Ibarria on American Tyranny or Constitutional Resilience?
Our Constitutional Democracy is holding strong against the authoritarian tendencies and proclivities of the current President of the United States. These have been well documented and have created broad-based, serious concern about the future of our democracy. Yet, to date these tendencies have been thwarted by Constitutional separation of powers and checks and balances, as well as by the constitutional/democratic norms which have evolved over 250 years. One of our Board Members, Rick Ibarria, will present a slide show highlighting the Constitutional reasons for concern based not only on the words and actions of our Chief Executive, but also on the support base backing him, and the societal reasons that have allowed this situation to arise in the first place. Nevertheless the continuing resilience of our system has held thus far, and with a non-surprising solution of civic engagement we can and will maintain and strengthen our democracy.
We'll be joined by FL-26 Congressional candidate Commander Demetries Grimes. He is a 2nd generation US veteran and son of a Greek immigrant mother. He has recently retired after 25 years in the US Navy.
Our meeting starts at 7 PM with time for social mingling.
At 7:30 PM The business portion of the meeting will happen, and at 8 PM Commander Grimes will speak.

Kellyanne Conway helps to destroy our democracy by promoting and supporting a misogynist, racist man who she lies for under the guise of "alternative facts."
Now she's here to support the local Miami-Dade Republican Party for their "Lincoln Day Dinner." We'll remind them of what Lincoln once said:
"My dream is of a place and a time where America will once again be seen as the last best hope of earth."
There will be a mix and mingle before the meeting at 7 PM. The meeting will begin at 7:30 and at 8 PM we will host a couple of speakers.
Our speakers for the event on Tuesday evening will be Annette Taddeo and Ana Rivas Logan both club members and candidates for the Senate District 40 seat.
